Review of Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) by Bugi P — 13 Mar 2010
Eastwood expand his narrative with the Japanese point of view of the battle of Iwo Jima! With some reason, I much prefer this film than "Flags of our Fathers". This film has an element of heroism is far more profound.
Beautiful shot, and plus the story far has the objective exploration of history, than Flags of our Fathers, which in my opinion, a bit provocative and there is an element of propaganda. Ken Watanabe is also showing a very total acting here, showing great talent to compete as a Hollywood actor class.
I think this one is a masterpiece!!
