Review of Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) by Danny P — 31 Jul 2010
Letters from Iwo Jima follows the Japanese campaign on this small island near the end of WW2. It is an inspiration story of how these men wouldn't give up against insurmountable odds.
The filming style of this movie was weird. Everything was gray, making you think that it was a black and white movie. But every once in a while there would be green or red. Very odd. Other than that it was your typical war movie. But it was from the Japanese side instead of the American side, even though it had an American director. The American Armed Forces were not shown in a very good light, but then it is war, right?
If you like WW2 or war movies this one is great. Rent it today.
