The Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19 â" March 26, 1945), or Operation Detachment, was a battle in which the United States fought for and captured Iwo Jima from Japan.One of the bloodiest campaigns of word war II on the eastern front.
A nice movie portraying the helplessness of the Japs and also their will to fight for their motherland.
