IMHO, this is the best movie of 2006, sadly, it lost to Martin Scorsese's The Departed. Letters from Iwo Jima maybe one of the most emotional and intense movie i've ever watched. It depicts the harsh and cruel reality of war, and hopes for a better life.
Letters from Iwo Jima stands out to the America's side movie, Flags of Our Father, as it not only delivers a cinematic scenes, but also a very strong storyline and characterization. 5 stars for Letters from Iwo Jima.
