Clint Eastwood's directorial companion piece to 'Flags of our Fathers', telling the story of the battle of Iwo Jima from the Japanese soldier's point of view. Eastwood (and co-producer Spielberg) had enough hollywood clout to get this thoughtful, powerful, Japanese language film made.
