Review of Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) by Rogerinho S — 25 Jun 2012
Beautiful film. I've always said Clint Eastwood's work is more than often unparalleled, as long as he stays behind camera. His attempt to make a two-part chronicle of WW2 from both the American and the Japanese side of the spectrum is remarkably honest and successful.
Ken Watanabe is always a phenomenal casting. Matter of fact, all the performances were moving and praise-worthy. That might be the reason why this movie grabbed me in a way that Flags of our Fathers didn't.
