Review of Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) by Juliette P — 04 Aug 2012
I do not even think words can describe the emotion and darkness of this film, a very realistic and humanistic look at the Japanese soldiers who fought, proving the fact that war has always been about young men fighting and old men talking and dictating while the young optimistic soldier is left to battle not just who he has been told is the enemy but also his conscience.
A very brutal look at what happened before and during the battle on Iwo Jima and how it affected both sides.
