Review of Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) by Jaime D — 30 Jul 2009
Good story that shows our "enemy" in a very sensitive light. It really saddened me how the Japanese government treated their people as expendable during this supposedly important battle. My only qualm with the movie is that it seemed a little too "American-sympathizer" while I don't remember seeing the opposite view in the companion movie "Flags of Our Fathers.
" If the idea is to say that "people are people" then why not show that in both movies?
