The critics have been taking this one WAY too seriously! This was actually a really funny buddy cop comedy that had its fair share of laughs. However, there's nothing too memorable in it to make it stand out with some of the other comedies this year.
The best aspect of the film is the chemistry between Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr.. They were quite funny together and they're really what made the film. Overall, while it may try a little too hard at times and it isn't the funniest comedy this year, it's certainly nowhere near as bad as the snobby critics have been making it out to be.
