Not a bad buddy/cop film, but it's certainly no 'Lethal Weapon' (or even '21 Jump St' - definitely could've used Riggle better/more!). Not a terrible lot happens and it is a little long at 105min, with the only unique bit being that they're not actually cops - but it's never really discussed why Ryan (Johnson) isn't in the police academy if he enjoys police work so much.
.. Very predictable plot and ending, but some funny moments throughout, thanks to the chemistry they share from their work together on 'New Girl'. Not bad =- but not great.
