Review of Lethal Weapon 4 (1998) by Lewis E — 18 Sep 2013
Why I waited so long to finish this series when I watched the first three within a week is beyond me but the last instalment showcasing the wacky antics of Gibson and Glover comes in at a respectable second place out of the four films.
They continue to exercise their creativity in the action sequences and made an intelligent choice by adding Chris Rock who wasn't laugh out loud hilarious but helped to keep things fresh. Jet Li was a cool villain, playing a mean triad affiliate who will have no trouble karate kicking your butt if you even look at him in the wrong way.
Remains guilty of the same cheesy humour which is meant to please middle-age audiences, mostly through the clumsy, fast talking, verbal punching bag known as Joe Pesci. Like the prequels though, it is something you have to put up.
