Review of Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) by Movie K — 06 Jun 2012

Quite a standard action movie of the franchise. Lots of action and is satisfying. Less entertaining than previous two though. The beginning Mel Gibson and Danny Glover arrive at a scene and they proceed into the building when Mel know there's a bomb.

He cut the red wire and the bomb blows off. They were back to uniform patrol. Danny only have a few more days to retirement. They were fooling a jaywalker when they come across 2 fake armoured guards robbing the bank.

Mel pursue and manage to nail them. Danny is trying to sell his house and Joe Pesci is the agent. He told a lot of stories about the house been destroy, attack etc and Danny is angry. A new baddie Stuart Wilson is dealing in arms and kills a guy for the failed robbery.

He is a cop as well. Mel saw Traci Wolfe been held hostage and rush to her aid. But it is a film set. The director fired her and Mel beat him and ask him to change his mind. Danny accidentally fires his gun while holstering and Mel acted mad to cover for him.

Armor piercing bullet are found on the robbers. Rene Russo is a tough internal affairs officer that is ever bickering with Mel. The duo were told to keep off the case but their captain reinstate their detective role.

Stuart enter the holding room and kill the robber. The trio went in after and saw the mess. All CCTV can't show his face. Rene go through a secret camera install in all holding room and show Stuart.

Joe told the duo he recognise Stuart and they go to ice hockey stadium to find him. Mel use the PA system to warn him stay put and that's how they found him. Joe was shot by him and escapes. He just have a light wound.

The next day Mel saw a bunch of kids suspiciously and was attack by semi-auto weapons. Danny kills a young boy, a friend of his son. He feel remorse and loss. Mel and Rene strike a deal to work on this case.

The gun was trace back as one of the seize police weapons bound for destroy among 15000 pieces of them. They were all gone before been sent for destroy. So it is inside job and internal affairs are on it.

She bring him to a place suspected to be the warehouse and they fight their way and bring back few crates of weapons. The buyer wasn't very happy and Stuart threaten him no backing out of deal. Rene and Mel is showing off their battle scars and ended up kissing.

Danny is drinking heavily and Mel comes to wake him up. At the boy's funeral, the father wants Danny to find who is the one who give the gun to the son. The trio goes on a hunting trip to get more information.

Stuart holds the captain hostage, went into the properties vault and get ammo. All the minions are ex-con nab by Stuart so been hired by him. A young rookie cop follows them with the pursue at vault. At the subway shootout, Stuart kills the young cop with the armor piercing bullet.

But they still escapes. Mel is very piss to let them run and he is injured. Joe trace down their warehouse and the trio crash the party. Mel light up a truck and burn the whole fleet of weapons. Stuart shot Rene and nearly kills Mel.

Danny found the armor piercing bullets and load them, give gun to Mel and he shoot through the metal and kills Stuart. Danny decided not to retire. Mel and Rene is officially together. After the end credits, a short scene have them both discussing which bomb wire to cut and the bomb explode blowing up a building.
