Review of Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) by Max T — 10 Aug 2011
Whereas the first instalment in this franchise is dark and the second uncertain as to what it wants to be, this third film has found it's path, though one at times wishes it was different. There are still hints of darkness, but they are moments and they pass. This is for all purposes a comedy with action, and in that respect it is better than its predecessor.
Gibson & Russo are a hoot and a holler and Russo brings some much needed spunk as well as bring out the best in Gibson from time to time.
More shockingly, Glover actually manage to give the family scenes some merit where one would think there is none to be found. The comedy is mostly good, but giving Pesci as Leo a bigger part turns out to be a mistake. The rest of the flick has plenty of high-paced humour and fast-talkers so Pesci is more an of annoying nuisance than anything else.
