Mel's character became too over-the-top and flippant and lost his relatable quality somewhere between the first movie and this one. I haven't seen 2, yet, so maybe that's when. He comes off more annoying than cute and funny.
Joe Pesci is blond. I just thought I should mention that. I think it counts as a negative all by itself.
