One of my favorite movies of all time. This was the first movie I saw that was non-stop from start to finish. The chemistry between Glover and Gibson is classic. This movie set a standard for action thrillers that is still present today.
Mel Gibson was unbelievable in a role that made Mad Max look like Orphan Annie. It is the ultimate male movie that doesn't rely on a romance to keep it going. Danny Glover plays the perfect sidekick and family man, removing him from the "Color Purple" stigma of just a bad guy.
He overcomes Mel's dominating performance to create his own person in the film, and that is hard to pull off given Mel's character. To me this movie made Glover a leading actor and one of the best.
Mel Gibson plays the troubled veteran perfect and together Glover and Gibson created one of the best partnerships in any film to date.
