Review of Lethal Weapon (1987) by Matt M — 25 May 2013
An ageing cop and a loose cannon who do not like to work with partners are paired up to stop a gang of drug smugglers. Among all buddy cop action films this is one of the best and arguably most representational, with its solid mixture of action sequences, comedic moments but also hints of darkness here and there with the shadows of the Vietnam war hanging down on both of the protagonists.
Mel Gibson and Danny Glover have a good chemistry as they play the unlikely cop pairing.
