I haven't seen any other cop buddy pictures, but this one is so well made and incredible, I don't think it would make a difference if I did. O.K. I'll give 48 Hours a watch, but still. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are just flawless together here and the fact that someone like Richard Donner directed this is gleefully obvious.
To borrow a phrase by famous director Steven Spielberg, this is a film where the characters outshine the story. But that doesn't mean the story is bad, though. Quite "lethal," in fact. See what I did there?
