The best buddy cop series of all time began in style! Lethal Weapon is an underrated film franchise because behind all of the action, explosions and stunts, Lethal Weapon is complete with emotional depth and character development.
As an audience, we enjoy the ride that Lethal Weapon offers, however, the real reason Lethal Weapon became such an influential and loved series is because we believe in the personas created on the screen and feel for both Riggs and Murtaugh.
Gibson is truly frightening as a cop on the brink and Glover is a standout as the down-to-earth lawman with much to lose. From a distance, Lethal Weapon might appear generic, but a closer look reveals something very special indeed.
