Review of Lethal Weapon (1987) by Jared S — 07 Mar 2012
After seeing this it's fair to say I need to see more 80's action flicks. The story isn't all that great and the plot is... well, that of an 80's action flick. And that's why it's awesome.
It doesn't pretend to be what it's not: a drama with deep character development and story progression. No if you're going to examine this the same way you do all dramas... don't even bother watching it.
This was Shane Black's first script turned into a hollywood blockbuster movie and the writing is fun. The dialogue and characters are just as outrageous as the final bout b/w Riggs and Joshua. It's not to be taken seriously or anything like that. I'll put it below Die Hard but a bit above something like True Lies.
