Review of Let the Right One In (2008) by Baron V — 25 Sep 2015
Best vampire movie ever. Period. Unique in every way. The cold, snow covered land adds every bit of reality one needs, and sets the tone in color as well as the loneliness of the main characters, though almost never alone. As I do with every foreign language film, I urge the viewer to watch the subtitled version instead of the English dubbed version. It's the only way to experience a foreign language film as it was intended to be viewed.
Charming, sinister, dangerous, curious. Well done Mr. Lindqvist & Alfredson!
As good as this version is, as usual, the American remake was the opposite, and a complete failure. Make sure you watch this original version. Brilliant, and one of my favorite movies regardless of genre.
