This foreign version is far more grim and yet far more compelling than the slicker,.
More Hollywood emotional type American remake. Yet, at the same time, the character of Oskar seems more innocent as well. A very affecting movie and about as far from the Twilight mode and the hokey Christopher Lee Hammer flicks as you can get.
