Review of Let the Right One In (2008) by Ryan C — 18 Apr 2013
I watched the English dub of this movie and really enjoyed it. The USA wasted no time in remaking the movie starring Chloë Moretz as Abby (Eli in this movie).
Let the Right One In has an old fashioned atmosphere to it and looked as though it was made in the 80's/early 90's, which is something I loved about it considering it was made in 2008.
The effects were spot on and give such a more realistic feel than today's CG, the blood also looked really good in my opinion. I also think the "romance" between Oskar and Eli was nothing but adorable.
Tables being turned so that the Oskar looked to Eli for advice and protection was also a breath of fresh air and heart warming to watch.
Oskar's hometown looks amazing in the snow and the community was quite believable, you feel their fear and frantic emotions as more people begin to disappear and bodies are found. Would happily read the book :).
