Review of Let the Right One In (2008) by Cade H — 05 Oct 2015
This movie is a must-watch. I would go so far as to call it the best horror movie of the 21st century so far. It's that good. The characters are deep and well developed, even if the plot comes off a bit contrived and cliche.
There are so many little character moments that you pick up on even more the second time around. You slowly see Oskar morphing into the person Eli wants/needs him to be. It's so beautiful and sad and by the end I kind of wanted to cry.
You want to believe in this little love story, but there's also little reason to believe in it. It's sappy, but the movie never plays it that way, and instead it sort of happens in the background while people get killed and blood gets spilled.
I seriously love this movie.
