Review of Let the Bullets Fly (2010) by Alan W — 20 Oct 2011
An exciting watch but even I was chasing the dialogue myself - so I can only imagine the difficulty for those chasing the subtitles! An action thriller with a fair few twists and turns which can be irritating or appealing depending on one's viewpoint.
Likewise, the slightly hammy acting can do the same too - except for that of the strong central performance from Jiang Wen who played it straight and sophisticated. The lyrical Chinese script/dialogue is tightly written, almost choreographed,ï¿ 1/2ï¿ 1/2 and I cant help but suspect there is something deep and meaningful (or metaphorical) about this film.
Maybe...
