Review of Let Me In (2010) by Lex S — 11 Dec 2012
This is better than "Let The Right One In". I feel they improved on the original in almost every way, all the small changes like the creepy ways The Father killed people, to the lack of seeing Owen's parents, and Owen being an even more lonely and disturbed kid made it even better. It made the relationship between Abby and Owen feel even more special.
Overall the movie felt more suspenseful. The addition of Elias Koteas was great, and the subtraction of CGI cats was a big plus, as well replacing the noisy old couple with a younger quieter couple is big plus. They got less screen time and they were integrated into the story in a much better way. The Father seemed more mysterious and odd in this film and that's probably because he got less screen time (no coffee shop scene).
To me they corrected a lot of the little "flaws' or things that bothered me a little about the original and they improved a lot of the good things about the original as well, like the very beginning of the film or the final pool scene. Add some 80's flavor to it, some beautiful cinematography, and great performances and you have a remake that's better than the original.
