Review of Let Me In (2010) by John C P — 23 Jan 2012
A surprisingly good remake that succeded where it's really important, in creating the fragile relationship between the boy and the vampire. The film is excellently cast, and there is a charismatic quality to Chloe that makes the character even more facsinating.
I liked how this film told basically the same story as the swedish version, but focused on different aspects of the book. Here we got less of the boys family situation, and we didn't get the group of drunks from the local pub, but we got the policeman, a mention of Thomas, and most importantly we got Richard Jenkins as the helper.
That is a treat. And I think it's sweet in some way that we have to individually great movies, and if you put them together, layer them over each other, you more or less get the entire book, with double focus on what,s important.
