Review of Let Me In (2010) by Christian D — 02 Mar 2012
Really good movie. U would assume it was a horror with the girl killing one of the residents and the undercover actions of the supposed priest.
But it cleverly was deceiving, How they always made the girl seem innocent like how she was walking around barefeet in the cold snow. She developed a character of someone not understood. Co-incidentally, so did the main character. A boy who had no one to be there for him. Parents didn't have time for him. While he had no friends and was subjected to bullying which made him feel lonely. Made him lash out. This commonality with the girl made that grow accustomed with each other. This emotional bond was so pure, shows true love. It's beautiful in a way as the youngsters didn't need physical attraction (thank god btw as it would be disgusting otherwise) to be compelled with each other. It showed how love should be. Appreciating each other.
Felt bad for the old guy, her ex. Strange that he could still appreciate her where he changed over the years while she remained a kid. Shows how emotionally bonded they must of been. Like how he sacrificed himself for her at the hospital when he knew he could no longer provide for her with the murders. A sad goodbye.
Powerful movie showing the purity of emotional love :-).
