Review of Let Me In (2010) by Andy S — 06 Apr 2012
In effect this is almost the exact same film as the Swedish original (Let the Right One In). All the same scenes with the same basic camera angles, etc etc. I wouldn't even call this a "remake" but rather a "redo".
Had I not seen the original film (which I loved) then maybe I would have gotten something out of this. Yes, good performances, yes, fantastic work by Matt Reeves. BUT.. I saw it all the first time. So it was worthless to me.
I can't imagine (other than $$) whi someone would want to completely redo a film like this. Matt Reeves gave his life away to redo someone elses work.. not not a re-interpretation.. a RE-DO. There is no reason to fear subtitles.
