Review of Let Me In (2010) by Mikael H — 06 Jan 2013
Mostly, I use to resent Americanized versions of European film, because they tend to be watered down and just much weaker than their originals. That was not the case with this one. In fact, I think this was a much better film in many ways: the directing was just thoroughly more competent.
The imagery we're presented with is not filled with the overloaded and cliched visual angst of the original, but instead toned down considerably. Likewise, the actors...act and speak like real people, instead of sounding like persons awkwardly reading text off cue cards.
In summary, this is one of the best vampire flicks to grace the big screen since Interview with a Vampire. I'm pleased.
