Review of Let Me In (2010) by Cory K — 06 Apr 2012
"I wanna see this but I know it'll fail as hollywood most always does when it rips off international movies." - is what I said before I watched the flick.
But after watching it.. Wow... Hollywood did a pretty good job transposing the movie into English. The film still had its indie feel. The director was also successful at keeping the feel of the original film.
I loved the casting choice for Owen. I didn't really like Chloe Moretz as Abby she has too much joy in her face. She portrayed the role pretty well. She did a great job in Kick Ass but she just didn't really fit well for this role.
The only aspect of the original film that this one wasn't able to capture was the cinematography.. In "Let the Right One In" each and every momentary pause in the story showed an artistically great still shot (if it were to ever be one). The backdrops were beautiful in such a morose place.
This movie still is an obvious ripoff. But it ripped off pretty well.
