After the fantastic Swedish vampire flick "Let The Right One In" took horror fans and critics by storm in 2008, it was inevitable that the near perfect movie would be dealt a localized remake - something that many true horror fans were uneasy about.

The good thing is that writer/director Matt Reeves stayed incredibly true to the original film, and preserved much of the eerie beauty that "Let The Right One In" had. "Let Me In" is a welcome retelling of the same great story that many fell in love with a few years ago.

The basic premise is a young boy, Owen, is bullied relentlessly at school. After meeting a girl (Chloe Moretz, fresh off her success as Hit-Girl from Kickass), he slowly starts to gain the courage to confront his antagonists. The story is by no means simple, and there are a few different plots going on at once, but they are never told in such a way that the plot becomes convoluted or any less immediate. The pacing is fantastic, and each scene feels necessary - something that a lot of recent horror movies could learn from.

Like the original, "Let Me In" has a very beautiful atmosphere about it. It is a sombre romance, but a romance nonetheless. It's difficult to categorize "Let Me In" because I wouldn't recommend it to a close-minded, shock-and-gore-loving horror fan. I would moreso recommend it to someone looking for a touching, coming-of-age, romance movie; which makes it kind of ironic that the former would probably see it over the latter.

All in all, if you are one of the people that loved "Let The Right One In," there is a good chance that "Let Me In" will not disappoint. If you like a good storyline, masterful and sparce dialogue, and a very poignant atmosphere, definitely check out "Let Me In.".

Screw "Twilight", this is the ONLY vampire love story that matters.
