Review of Let It Be (1970) by Jakepicci — 24 Aug 2008
You can't make a better music film than this. Every music film about a band after this compares itself to it, especially live band shots such as the rooftop concert and tense rehearsals and actual blissful moments when they play like The Beatles of prime years.
This film has everything - Paul McCartney trying to motivate the band, bickering between McCartney and George Harrison, a bored John Lennon and Ringo Starr...but ultimately, still a collection of four musicians who still play great music together, as witnessed from some of the rehearsals and the iconic rooftop concert.
A phenomenal movie, for many reasons - to witness the breakup of the band, and that they could still capture the magic that only The Beatles have.
