Review of Less Than Zero (1987) by Tasha A — 25 May 2008
The Brat Pack does Brett Easton Ellis - with shoulder pads and big hair. Definitely a child of its time, but the music is good. James Spader is revisiting the role he played in Some Kind of Wonderful, but grittier; it makes you wonder if Robert Downey Jr.
was Method acting; couldn't give a toss about Andrew McCarthy or Jamie Getz (I'd forgotten she was Star in the Lost Boys - had the same level of impact). It felt that there was a *lot* more going on that wasn't in the film; a shame, as it could've been so much more.
