Review of Less Than Zero (1987) by Sonia?? — 12 Jul 2008
Well, this is a decent drug movie. It is not glamorized, and it does kill. Robert Downey Jr. does a great job as the cocaine junkie. I thought the other two lead performances were rather weak. I thought Andrew McCarthy and Jami Gertz were stiff and annoying. I heard they were off from how the book originally portrays them.
And the movie is so blasted 80's. And I hate the 80's. So, I'm probably a little biased against it, but it annoyed me. And James Spader did well as a bad guy.
