Review of Les Misérables (2012) by Hannah B — 28 Oct 2014
Some doubted the ability to translate the epic Broadway show to the big screen, but the deliberate attempts at living up to this paid off and then some. Jackman is perfect as Valjean, and even the non stars at times outplay the a listers.
Marcus and Enroljas were perhaps my favorite characters in this adaptation, but that's not saying that Samantha Banks, Sasha Baron Cohen, and Hathaway didn't disappoint. Cinematography also played a huge part in making the film great, and while a tad long than probably what most moviegoers desire, this is truly one of my favorite musical movies of all time.
