Review of Les Misérables (2012) by Liv H — 22 Mar 2014
Amazing. My jaw was open through the whole thing. I laughed and I cried. But the ending, that was the best part. Even if you know what happens, if you read the book, saw the play, it will still make you cry.
I watch it every week and I still cry every single time. This movie brings out the best and worst in life. It gives you hope when you need it. I love this movie and story. I've thought long and hard about what this movie truly is about.
I asked my LA teacher, but surprisingly, she hasn't read it, or seen the movie or play. This movie shows you that people will cheat and lie and steal, but there are also those who will save and fight for what they can.
It shows the hero that we all want to be in many characters. It explains the true meaning of loving and caring about something. It shows that there is always a reason to keep fighting. With the casting choice, I loved everyone.
Russell Crowe was the weakling, but still amazing. It's so hard to compare this movie to any other. I love looking at all the different ways the actors prepared. The actors brought out the characters.
No matter what you've been through, you will find yourself in at least one of the characters.
