Interesting adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic tale. Liam Neeson is outstanding as Jean val Jean, a man in search of redemption and second chances. Geoffrey Rush as Javert is the classic bad guy. I still prefer the stage version with the wonderful score, but this movie was a nice way to spend an evening.
