Review of Les Misérables (1998) by Sarfaraz A — 24 Jan 2013
Les Misérables directed by Bille August. This film is loose adaptation of Victor Hugo's novel of the same name. Staring Liam Neeson, Geoffrey Rush, Uma Thurman.
There is no need to elaborate the plot since the novel is popularized one throughout the past century with multiple film adaptation. Neither have I read the novel nor have I watched past movies, and yet I juiced this up. I enjoyed it to my level best. Liam Neeson and Geoffrey Rush were carefully cast. Much of story is altered or some scenes/characters omitted from the film, still Les Miserables runs smoothly explaining its hard story in sentimental way.
