Review of Leprechaun 3 (1995) by Eoin E — 07 Dec 2009
Part 3 of 5 of the Leprechaun marathon.
Madness begins to creep in as Lep is now a statue Las Vegas that is bound by a mystic amulet. Greedy Indian pawnbroker removes said amulet and has to fight Lep for the first part of the film (20 minutes).
In a totally unrelated story, a 45-year-old young man is on his way to LA and stops to help a magician's assistant who works at the saddest casino in Vegas. They hook up and we meet the magician and other stupid characters (including a Pulp Fictionesque duo of hitmen talking about pointless crap).
Finally Indian is killed but his Leprechaun CD-ROM keeps on playing and explaining the complex plot. Old teenager gets one of the Lep's coins that can make wishes come true and yet another plot line begins to develop. Lot's of social commentary.
Lep starts to speak in rhyming limericks (lass - ass, shilling-killing) that can drive a lesser man to tears.
Nobody has a problem with a ridiculous dwarf going around Vegas and the casino owner gets fucked to death by an android with tits, a woman's ass explodes and the magician is sawn in half with a chainsaw before Leprechaun is defeated by burning his gold with a flamethrower.
Very bizarre film and definitely one of the better ones in the series.
