Review of Leprechaun 2 (1994) by Dyl M — 28 Jul 2008
This movie was amazing comedy-horror. It doesn't take itself seriously, and it's in this one that the leprechaun starts to speak in rhyme. They absolutely throw out any idea of consistency between the various "Leprechaun" movies, with the exception of including Warwick Davis playing an evil leprechaun in all of them, but it's so enjoyable that you don't really care.
The first "Leprechaun" was more of a "Gremlins"-type horror film, with nobody dying or getting seriously hurt, and while it was still fun, I enjoy this version of the leprechaun, who who rips off fingers and tears open guts with reckless abandon so much more.
He also drives a pimped-out go-kart and, yes, yells "I WANT ME GOLD!" like it's going out of style. If you are searching for a cinematic masterpiece, then this movie is not for you, but if you want something fun and not mentally challenging, watch this movie.
