Review of Leprechaun 2 (1994) by Mark W — 01 May 2011
The first of five sequels to the '93 original, Leprechaun 2 immediately begins to send the franchise downhill. It is however a good and sometimes scary film. Warwick Davis as the leprechaun is still gruesome and enchanting as ever to watch.
The film continues to expand on the mythology of leprechauns. The storyline is excellent and solid. The film however loses the magical touch the first film had. The scares could have been beefed up and there could have even been more scares throughout the film.
The character Morty is funny and provides a lot to the film. A fun yet not as scary and as magical sequel.
