Review of Leprechaun (1993) by Lisa M — 25 Mar 2010
Other then Davis' excellent performance and creepy make-up, this movie is pretty bad. Not quite the "so bad it's good", but so bad that it is...okay.
Besides Davis, Holton does a decent job and Aniston (though she could have picked a better first movie) isn't terrible and plays the spoiled rich girl well.
The story is corny, but there are couple funny leprechaun jokes and refrences that most people probably guessed were already there. I don't know if it was the edited for TV version that I saw, but it didn't seem like there was much for gore fans here. The only real scares come from Davis who pulls off the character well thanks to the make-up and makes an otherwise laughable character into a somewhat creepy killer.
Not much to be scared of or laugh at here, but if your looking for a bad movie to watch then you'll enjoy this one.
