Review of Leprechaun (1993) by Matt W — 18 Mar 2008
If you're expecting this to be a top-notch scarefest, then you won't enjoy this movie. It's really more of a comedy/slash horror. While most of the acting is awful, Jennifer Aniston isn't bad and Warwick Davis is the perfect actor to portray the leprechaun.
Most stories describe leprechauns as being cute little creatures. I love the idea of having a hideous looking one who will kill for his pot of gold. The leprechaun's dialogue is pretty hilarious at times and makes the movie very enjoyable.
My only problem with the film is that at times it tries to be too serious. It tries to be suspenseful at times and this just doesn't work. Aside from that, this is a movie I enjoy watching over and over again.
