Review of Léon: The Professional (1994) by Peter P — 06 Oct 2012
This is probably the best hit man movie I have seen thus far. It is amazingly cool but at the same time shows how lonely the job would make some one. The action is great, all the hits and weapons are awesome, I want a coat like Leon.
The acting is really solid, Gary Oldman kinda overacts but at the same time, it works for the character, that police station bathroom scene is intense. Jean Reno and Natalie Portman are just plain brilliant and this is probably one of Danny Aiello's best showings in film.
It does lose 1 star for intense violence and language, but mainly due to the very uncomfortable to watch relationship between Reno and Portmans characters, they say that in Europe it is not a big deal, but in North America is just felt wrong.
Other then that, this is an amazing film.
