Review of Léolo (1992) by James L — 14 Apr 2006
This is a bold french film that my woman spotted sitting on the dusty, wooden self of Wonderbook & Video. We decidedly rented this film, having either been disgusted, melaised, or have seen with everything else... We also had little intention on rifling through the horizontal stacks, or staxx...x.
I've seen a lot. My mind is warped and twisted; frankly, my mind is content but earnestly bored.
Leolo shows me content and context which is both horrific and beautiful. This film had shown me things I had not seen, or very much vividly thought of on such a personal level.
Some may walk away disappointed or mucked. My woman strode away clumping her heels. She was saddened. I contrastly felt happy for such bright characters and script writing.
Leolo is amazing, and if you give yourself the chance to read a little, this french peice should be dreams to the eyes.
