I've never really been what you would call a Motorhead "fan" but have always appreciated them as a band and thought they were great the one time I saw them live. That said, watching Lemmy really opened my eyes to how important a figure Lemmy Kilmister is in the history of rock.

He is without a doubt one of the most inspirational figures to the last few generations of rock musicians both in terms of his music and his attitude. He used to be a roady for Jimi Hendrix, he has been in several major rock bands, he has written songs for many other people (including Ozzy's big hit "Mama I'm Coming Home") and even plays in a rockabilly band with members of the Straycats.

And for all that fame does to so many people, Lemmy has remained a real person; he will sit down and have a drink with anybody, he lives in a small, completely average apartment with no luxuries, and he just doesn't care about what's cool or what other people think.

He is just Lemmy. As a documentary it is excellent with the one caveat that it loses track in the last 20 minutes. But if you want to see one of the most enduring, interesting, and productive figures in rock history, Lemmy is the film to watch.
