Review of Legion (2010) by Bum D — 12 Mar 2011
There are parts near the beginning that I enjoyed and laughed at (was it intended to be funny?), but the story makes absolutely no sense. First of all we have the archangel Michael refusing to do his job.
Wouldn't he have learned from the whole Satan incident? Okay, that seems inconsistent, but the part that really makes absolutely no sense is the fact that a character is pregnant with the savior of humanity.
..that God wanted Michael to kill because if the baby survives then so does humanity. If God wanted to end humanity, then what point is there of having a woman become pregnant with a possible savior? Apparently both demons and angels both have a love-affair with the apocalypse (again.
..why would demons want this? It would mean their destruction as well...) and essentially team-up to get this child. This movie could have worked if the story was given any thought. Heck, I managed to fix the story just by tweaking it.
Imagine the same set-up of an angel fighting alongside a group of strangers in a road-side dinner to protect an unborn child that is "special" against strange creatures. Then it's revealed that the angel is really the Devil and they were fighting angels who were trying to end the child that is actually going to be used for evil and not the savior they were lead to believe by the Devil.
There. I fixed the plot holes of this movie and made it a stronger story with an interesting twist in less than a minute. No excuse for such a badly thought out and written story.
