Review of Legion (2010) by Stuart B — 09 May 2011
Man, what a mess of a movie! All the post apocalyptic, religious mumbo jumbo can't hide the fact that this was a turgid, woefully plotted and incoherent story which was poorly paced and at times laughably camp (and unintentionally so.
..). You are introduced to the movie in a kind of second rate Terminator sequence but with an Angel instead of a T-800, and as quickly as you ask what on earth is going on (and you're still left asking that question as the final credits role), we ensue on a truly tiresome journey to save the human race.
There are so many plot holes and unexplained instances I could write a journal on them, from why the Angels need to take over human bodies, to why such poor horror effects, but ultimately you have completely lost interest after less than 10 minutes, and the characters introduced are cliched and dull as dishwater.
The plot drags so many times, the oh so important religious angle is so well worn it grates, the acting is terrible, and the action sequences are poorly executed. There really are no positives I can think of.
... One of the worst movies I've ever seen. You almost wish for an apocalypse just to rid the world of it...
