Review of Legion (2010) by Sean H — 28 Mar 2014
This was a pretty good movie involving celestial beings. The only really good thing about it is the beautiful CGI effects used on the Angel's wings (particularly for Archangel Michael in how they actually looked as if they were made of metal rather than feathers). However as far as a horror film goes, it is kind of... just bad really. The plot is terribly thin and the writing is subpar. The plot itself is super confusing though. I get the whole 'second coming of Christ' aspect they were gunning for but it just doesn't work in the context of a horror film. Horror demands thrills and fear, not religious undertones up the wazoo.
Paul Bettany however was very good as Archangel Michael. He really looked the part too, and admittedly a divine being wielding a machine gun was quite amusing. Otherwise this movie is pretty much one to skip unless you want a crappy movie to kill time with.
