Review of Legend of the Lost (1957) by Jeff Z — 26 Dec 2008
This is a "lost" John Wayne classic. I'd always seen bits and pieces of this film on the late movie and it didn't look too good. I finally got the DVD and was able to watch it from beginning to end and was most pleased.
Henry Hathaway, who directed the Duke in "True Grit" does a great job in this Bogart-esque film. Wayne plays the tough guide, Loren a reformed prostitute, Brazzi as a man with the dream of finding a lost city.
Very entertaining.
